RACE 1

2-South Beach Star – Lightly-raced brother to Highalator came right back to repeat with authority last week, draws farther inside & continues skyward for Team Pelling

 

3-Abuckabett Hanover – Grand Circuit winner at two qualified with zeal both times, plus displayed versatility, draws well & looks ready to roar for the Team Alagna 1-2 punch

 

7-Exploit – The other Team Alagna trainee was the Metro shocker & just missed in the Governor’s Cup, second qualifier into strong headwinds, tough post, but classy colt

 

RACE 2

7-Sawyer’s Desire – Sharpened his sword in his last three in PA for Team Burke, demanding post, but lands in a soft spot & this 1:49 performer last year owns some back class

 

2-Cecil Casanova – Bounced back with his second win in his last three starts by speed popping them from post nine, rejuvenated in the Mark Silva barn & now moves inside off that new lifetime mark

 

8-P L Leeroy – Wheeled right back with another blowout as the heavy favorite to prove his post nine shocker two starts back was no fluke, has a chance to capitalize on his form revival

 

RACE 3

1-Next Level Stuff – Breeders Crown champ just missed in the comebacker with an eye-catching :26.4, now moves inside where she can be closer to the kitchen, while sporting a high number in the win column

 

3-When Dovescry – Classy millionaire, Oaks champion & 2020 Steele Memorial winner won her second qualifier with a nice late burst on a windy day & draws inside to trip out in a sharp field

 

6-Hypnotic AM – Empire Breeders Classic winner & Oaks runner up edged out Felicityshagwell S with a nifty late lunge in her lone qualifier, this millionaire has all the right tools to beat these right off the hop

 

RACE 4

3-Toronto – With a salute to my hometown, this well-bred gelding caught his best stride @ Pocono off a recent sick scratch, draws better for a sharp barn off a solid third to a pair of standouts last week

 

6-Pirate Hanover - $400,000 yearling son of Captaintreacherous had some moments as a freshman, flashed some speed finishing second to Perfect Sting in his latest qualifier & looks ready to go for Team Alagna

 

1-Throwing Copper – Finished fourth behind Toronto last Saturday & might be gaining some traction, lands his third straight rail to facilitate a smooth stalking trip for the always dangerous Brennan & Drennan

 

RACE 5

6-Beyond Words N – Hammered down to 4-5 favorite & kicked home in a crisp :26.2, back half in :53.4, certainly a noteworthy US debut off a sick scratch, her encore figures to be even better

 

1-Rose Run Vantage – Proven winner at this level from post seven back on April 3, solid third behind Beyond Words N last Saturday & moves inside to trip out in a rematch & leads a Team Cullipher 1-2 punch

 

2-Ideation Hanover – Offered a late bid & faded to fourth behind stablemate Rose Run Vantage, has landed on the fringes at this level, yet draws inside again & rates best of the rest status

 

RACE 6

3-Fortify – Progress Pace upsetter over No Lou Zing & 1:47.3 performer at three flashing positive signs in both qualifiers, draws well as part of a strong 1-2 punch for Team Takter

 

2-Seriously Hanover – Only took a couple of starts to unleashed a convincing 1:49.1 career best last week, promising lightly-raced 4YO continues to flourish with an inside draws for Nifty Norman

 

5-Island Of The Sea – Rebounded with a strong third to Seriously Hanover from post eight, solid 1:50.4 winner on April 17 regaining top form & draws better, while facing some classy opponents

 

RACE 7

5-HP Napoleon – Shipped from Mohawk off an overdue win & finished well from a tough spot in :26.3 last week after missing 35 days, lands the same midpack post to pounce on the speed

 

8-American History – 2019 Breeders Crown champ nosed out as the heavy favorite last week, tougher post here, but remains at the same reduced level & razor sharp on the comeback trail

 

4-Covered Bridge – Leads the Team Burke 1-2 punch fresh off a hard-fought score in 1:50 first time Lasix, 1:48.3 performer here last year has a relentless style & merits the bump up in class

 

RACE 8

2-Sundown Kid – Displayed some speed at both ends with a better result last week, took a mark of 1:50 here back in late February, finally draws inside & gets some class relief for Brennan & Drennan

 

1-Respect Our Flag – Freshened recently & flashed a sneaky :26.4 in the comebacker from post nine, now gets class & post relief for resurging Team Bongiorno

 

4-Harambe Deo – Classy 1:48.3 performer here last season has been showing the right signs for Team Cullipher, yet hasn’t really fired his best in 2021, gets a class drop & cozy inside post, would like to see more late punch

 

RACE 9

7-Colossal Stride A – Still no worse than second in nine US starts, solid runner up to standout Stars Align A last week, likes to chase down the pace & figures to have plenty to shoot at in this competitive affair

 

8-Nicholas Beach – With his back-to-back wins in 1:48.2 & 1:48.1 we’re left wondering how good he is, tough post in a competitive field, yet still fresh on the comeback trail for a fired up Team Bongiorno

 

5-Wheels On Fire – Missed 35 days after mixing it up with Sintra in the Mohawk Preferred, a solid third last week, owns controlling speed & looms large off that excellent tightening mile for Team Burke

 

RACE 10

4-Lovedbythemasses – Rallied stoutly off a rated pace to notch his third win in his last four starts for Team Cullipher, back half in :54.2, took a mark of 1:51.4 on April 10 & draws well in a wide-open field

 

1-Oney Hall – Left Mohawk on a winning note, won his qualifier with a late burst, then finished a solid third in last week’s Preferred, back on the rail to crank it up a notch or two for Team Pelling

 

2-Treasured Tee – Shipped out of the Mohawk Preferred & finished well here last week after missing 40 days of action, now draws better off that beneficial mile for Team Burke

 

RACE 11

5-Master Conrad – Back-to-back winner last month forced wide from a tough spot last Friday, launches from midpack with a chance to sweep past this camera-shy bunch for a the prolific Stacy Chiodo barn

 

4-Rockinwiththebest – Just one for 15 this season & that came in the GSY Series on April 2, stepped it up again with a nose loss, then a solid second from post ten in his last two & now draws much better

 

9-Big Sweep Osborne – Makes the switch from claimers off a tough, uncovered grind for second, draws farther outside, but could be more effective with a late move in this soft match up

 

RACE 12

4-Sorella – 2020 Hambo Oaks champ fresh off a super season, finished well in both qualifiers & looks poised to dominate this soft division for Team Takter

 

6-AB’sattitudeexpress – Those were just two-horse match races, but you had to like the way she kicked home to win both NJ Maturity miles, Blue Grass winner in 1:51.4 revved up for another big season

 

2-P L Notsonice – Sharpening her sword since the late March sick scratch, arrives fresh off a noteworthy 1:52.3 career best blowout in the Tioga Downs Open & lands inside here to be forwardly placed

 

RACE 13

5-Bettor BB – Did a complete 180 turnaround, rebounded off a bad loss & crushed $7,500 foes as the heavy 1-5 favorite & now bumped up a notch & looks to go two-for-two off the claim

 

1-Ideal One A – Took full advantage of a class drop & streamrolled first over to a convincing upset & this 10YO took a new lifetime mark of 1:52.4 @ Rosecroft & draws the rail in a basically blank finale

 

6-Bebop On The Block – The Bebopper has had a tough time in his last two for this price, reclaimed by Jason Robinson, who won with him on April 16 fresh off the claim, so a bounce-back effort is possible
