1 DREAM POLICE WOMAN Filly doesn't look all that ready, based on those Philly qualifiers. However, there are only five in here, so she only needs to finish to pick up a check! That might be the goal tonight.
2 HURRIKANE EMPRESS Won six of her 13 starts last year, so that's a major plus! Her qualifier here was fine, and probably exactly when they were looking for. Have to give her the slight edge over #5, who has already raced. Trainer: We raced her a few starts in Florida and was having issues with what we thought was allergies. Shipped her to Pocono for series and it turned out to be sickness. Gave her some time and qualified her easy. She's back to the track she loves, and the driver that gets along with her best.
3 HYPNOTIC TALE Might be your best chance to upend the favorites, if you think it's possible. Prepped nicely at the Meadows, and send to Toscano for the sires stakes. She'll have to go faster here, but maybe she can. Trainer: Raced well last at the Meadows and should be good.
4 WE NEED DREAMERS Didn't look ready in June of last year. Didn't look ready in January of this year. Tried again in Ohio last month and finally went in under 2:00. Is that enough? Probably not.
5 CRUZINFORAVICTORY Did win one of her freshman starts last year, so that's a good thing. And, she's had a couple of nice tuneups down at home base in Maryland. However, she'd better work on that early speed to stay close to #2.

1 HES A CASTOFF Tough to get a real read on this one's form right now. Recently put the hopples on, and made a break in one of those starts. I guess I'd like to see one here, first. Just to see if he trots, and if he belongs.
2 STITCH IN TIME Didn't exactly have a good start last week, against a tougher bunch. This is definitely a drop for him, and the post will keep him in ideal striking position. Would be hard to leave off the ticket against these, folks.
3 GLOBAL REVOLUTION Found a nice, easy, soft spot down at Freehold and cruised. Back to the big track now, where he hasn't had much luck. Maybe that will change? Doesn't figure to offer a very big price, so be careful here.
4 EYORE HANOVER We didn't see much from him in that mile track try last week. Basically gapped, trying to keep up. That's not good enough and I would need to see a whole lot more before I could endorse.
5 INUKCHUK CHUCK Worked his way up the class ladder out of town, so this is a considerable drop. I will add that he won one race last year, and it did come here. If the price were to be okay, I'd consider using. Ideal post for his style.
6 ROCKIN REDFORD Another possible dropper and popper. Red has "woken up" in this spot before, so don't be shocked if he uncorks one of his good miles. Don't let last bad start fool you. This is what they were waiting for.
7 IRON DOME The Dome is back! And into a pretty good spot. Rob "loses" the drive on #2, since he must drive his own. Gelding can show speed, if he's in good form, but that might be questionable. Recent sick scratch. Tough post.
8 MULTITASKR HANOVER After a tiring first try here, Ms. Lappe changed strategy and it worked a lot better last week. Set up a decent rally in race that set up for the closers. Same thing coming? But, from how far back?
9 PERMANENT JOY 10YO is back for another go here. He's been here before. Freshened up a couple of months. Two qualifiers to get ready. Is he ready to trot in 1:56? I have my doubts, but it is possible.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 1-5-4-3

1 SAMIS ROLIN STONE Failed to win last year at two, but this filly has some talent! Showed it again, with that solid qualifier, which was her best career effort. Simply put: if she's that good again, she may overhaul #3 when it counts.
2 TAKE A WISH Had a fairly decent 3YO debut, where she picked up a check. But, it can't be a good thing that she scratched after that. Would have "needed" that second start to get ready for this. I consider her questionable now. Trainer: Trained well this week and hoping for the best.
3 PRINCESS MARXXX I think we all remember her from last summer. There is plenty of speed in this tank, but boy is she a bumpy ride! Andy did great job to keep her trotting "most of the time." He's not here tonight. Up to Yannick.
4 OCARINA HANOVER Put the hopples on recently and is already better for it. I like the way she raced against the colts last time and if she's that good again, she will be a threat. As long as she stays trotting all the way.
5 DIAMONDSTONE US Yes, that's seven times she finished second last year. That's a little worrisome, but oh well! When you're finishing second in stakes, you pick up good green! Preps at Philly were fine. Only knock: the post. Trainer: Seems stronger this year.

1 ZEPHYR KOSMOS Wow, what a fast horse this is! But, he's not the safest-gaited colt ever. Loads of ability, if he can ever become dependable. This is a BIG step up, but I wouldn't be shocked if he swept them again. Your call? Trainer: Raced very good last start. Doesn't like dirt in the face, so it took a 1/4 mile to get his act together. When he does, he can go very fast.
2 PERFETTO Simply out-trotted himself in the final yards last week, so I'm not going to worry about that. They were flying at that point. Prior burst of speed was impressive. I like the post relief here. May get to follow #1?
3 TYMAL REIGN Definitely an upset chance here. Why? Because she's a 4YO with plenty of experience. She can go fast enough. Had a nice prep down at Philly and this is the right spot. Owns pretty good speed if pilot wants it. Trainer: Honest mare. Should be improved.
4 OSVALDO BLUE CHIP After a real good run recently, he regressed into a couple of miscues at Yonkers. Ouch! The comeback qualifier was okay, but not great, with broken equipment. I guess I want to see one here again.
5 LIMA NOVELTY Had a very good year as a freshman on the NY sires stakes circuit. Even made the final! Tuned up over at Yonkers in paceless race. She should be ready for a big track try now. Only has to go a bit faster.
6 HAT TRICK HABIT Had two qualifiers to get ready, and trust me, they were BOTH better than you think. Finished them up nicely, with plenty of trot. I guess it's all about pace and trip from this post. Coming from off the pace.
7 ALL THIS COMMOTION Faced some older, more experienced horses in his first two starts of the year. He's also a 4YO, but from a bad post tonight. After setting pace and getting run over last time, I think it's off the pace now.
5 Fifth Race Entries

1 BUCKEYE IN CHARGE Suffered a broken driving bit before the race last week, which got him all fired up. Just throw that race out. Goes back to Pollio driving, so it's back to longshot status.
2 MISTER INDIANA Had a pretty good year last season out in Indiana, but off to a slow start thus far in 2018. Sent east for a change of scenery? Let's see if he belongs. He did win one in 1:50 last year. That would work here.
3 ALWAYS A DIAMOND Now 0-11 on the campaign so far, but coming off a couple of decent tries down at Philly. Back to Club Med and now in a softer class. Should be able to stalk #4 and it'll come down to a sprint home.
4 EVER AGAIN Exits the series where he was clearly overmatched. We can't question his speed, and he is a big threat to go all the way. A mile in 52 just might be enough to get it done. There will be no doubt about strategy here.
5 ROCK THE OFFICIAL Hasn't missed a beat this year, with 19 starts already. Racing fairly well. I'm sure he's tried it here before, but perhaps without success. Guess I'd like to see one here again.
6 GREEN OLIVES Took plenty of money last week and raced well behind a rated, front-end winner. That was decent effort. Moves out a few slots here and gets a different driver. Needs another aggressive attempt to hit the ticket. Trainer: Sharp right now.
7 RING WARRIOR Did a little bit of the dirty work last week, to set things up for the closers. Draws the same tough post tonight and that may hurt again. I imagine Jimmy will send, but horse will need easier trip to surprise us.
8 THE ILLUMINATOR Up from Rosecroft, and UP in class. I don't think that's going to work out too well.
9 ARTS BLAZE Gets toughest post in recent memory and it greatly compromises his chances. Slow starter. Pass.
10 JOEY GOODFELLOW I kinda like this horse, because he packs pretty good speed. Sometimes it's not always controllable, but this is the weakest field he's seen in a long time. I think he's ready. Must work out a trip somehow.

1 EUROBOND Had an unbelievably good qualifier two weeks ago. A real eye-catcher. This is a 3YO with a lot of talent that looks like completely different horse from last year at two. Should give #2 all he can handle tonight.
2 FOR A DREAMER Also had a very good qualifier here last week. However, that break from two weeks ago does have me worried. Dave Miller gets the call now, from a good inside post. I'm sure hopes are high for this fella this year.
3 COWBOY HALL Been showing his good speed of late, but also his lack of stamina. I think it's time to give this guy a race from just off the pace, to see how it works. Gets a better post, so maybe that can happen.
4 SETNTHEWORLDONFIRE It's never a good thing to see a first start back off layoff with a break. Filly is stuck in a tough spot here too, against the colts. Have to feel the main mission is to get her to the gate onstride. That's it.
5 TIFFANY'S FLASH Another filly in against the boys. Not the ideal situation for first start back off layoff. So far, most of this barn's starters have needed a race. I'll go with that, until proven otherwise. Trainer: Has been working through some problems, but is getting better.
6 MASTER OF THE HILL Still hasn't come back to that eye-popping performance from the winter. Regressed into another miscue down at Philly. Maybe he needs the big track? I'm not on board until I see more.
7 LOVELY LYNNLY Comes off two straight races that went in 53. That's not easy to do, and she clearly lacked a knockout punch. Back to tougher post here, so we might see speed again. Still not easy, against the colts. Adds Lasix.
8 DELAINE HALL Still looking like a "work in progress" for Burke Brigade. Last few out of town have shown a lack of stamina. I hate the post. Would need to see vast improvement here, before I could bet.
9 STORY TIME HANOVER Takter colt didn't qualify all that well, and gets slammed with a terrible post here. Have to believe his mission is just to get around there and stay trotting. Let's watch for future evaluation.

1 FIJI Gelding had a very good start here last week. Only overhauled by a classy foe. Still, it was BIG step back in the right direction. Moves all the way inside and plots for another good journey. Maybe gets revenge on #4?
2 SKATES N PLATES Took couple months off and came back with pretty good qualifier. I'm not ready to hop on board just yet, but will be watching closely. Might not be able to step around #1. A sit in trip coming?
3 WHATNBLAZES Picked up a check upon arrival here. Scoots back up the Turnpike for another try and will hope for same outcome. Likely to sit, save ground and try to keep up. That's the goal.
4 CHECKMATE TIME Wow, did she look good last week. Inhaled the field with a grinding surge and finished up on own. This is a much tougher spot, but the power is on the outside. If she's out and grinding, might jump up again.
5 ITS CHOCOLATE TIME Bit of a mystery horse right now, since he hasn't been able to repeat that dazzler of earlier this year. It's new barn? Let's see if Mr. Del Cid can work on the gelding's stamina level.
6 ROSE RUN QUICKLEY This does not look like the right spot for Rose. In too tough with these. Pass for me.
7 MONTALBANO BI For a brief shining moment, I thought the Bi was going to win last week. Then, with about 50 yards to go, Chromeo outgamed him. It's that last bit of stretch that gets in the way. Might be tougher trip to lead this week.
8 GOLD MEDAL SWAN Took a week off after being overmatched in that last spot. This is a bit of a drop back to a more effective level for the Swan. I do wish he'd drawn a better post, but can't help that. Hoping for a hot pace setup to rally.
9 WINGS OF ROYALTY I'll admit I was shocked when he fired out of the gate last week. Feared I'd missed the boat! I think he had plenty of trot left late too! Had he drawn a better post, I'd make solid bet. This post hurts, however.
10 DOUBLE L LINDY I, and the whole world liked this guy two weeks ago and we were all wrong. The trip wasn't easy, but he also wasn't as good. Now it's post 10, in a field full of speed types. Will need a LOT more luck to get home. Trainer: Post 10 a challenge.

1 FRANKANDJOANNE In a race full of question marks, this is one of them! Gelding has worked his way down in class. Gets a nice post here. Has shown a few good efforts in past. I guess I can make a case for anything in here!
2 SHARKFIRE MIA for a couple of weeks, and coming off a series of dull efforts. I can never predict a total wakeup call, but that's what the Shark would need. We have to guess on that.
3 FRANKIE BOY Frankie finds his way back to Club Med tonight, and on a serious class drop. Gets a decent post, after a few swings from tough spots. I guess he fits with these, so give him a chance and toss onto your tickets.
4 DEBT OF HONOR Just 1-21 on the campaign so far. He's a plodder at this stage of career. Not sure he's really ready to go faster here, but he did pick up a check last week. That's a good thing. That's the goal again.
5 THE FIRE WITHIN Have to believe this is a perfect drop and pop spot for this fella. If you remember his steamroll win of last month, that would win this race by a block! He's in for the claiming tag. I wonder if any takers?
6 ONE MORE MIRACLE Also in for the tag here, and making second start off a year layoff. The Mann surprised us with one last week, and this could be another. IF he's primed and ready? That is the question. Very soft field, except for #5.
7 KINGS BARNS If for some reason you feel #5 might be vulnerable, then this is your other option. He's beaten better than this before, but usually needs the right kind of setup. Will have to race better than he did last week, however.
8 BLACK HAMMER Gets stuck with a pretty bad post here and doesn't appear to be in top form anyway. I'll pass.
9 VICTORY AT LAST With Andy Miller not here, Mr. Llopez will do the driving from the rough, outside post. That means horse will be a longshot, needing to get lucky. Not sure I can guarantee that.

1 OUTCRY Finally gets a break at the post draw. Also gets Eric A back, as his choice over #8. That has to tell us a little something. Horse has raced well here before, from inside posts like this. Eligible longshot to hit the ticket.
2 MYSTERIOUS MOMENT Barn sent a bunch up here this weekend. Not really sure what to expect from this 12YO. He's been towing along lately down at home base. This is tougher spot, but he landed good post. Sits in, saves ground?
3 SUPER S YZERMAN Took a LOT of money last week and sailed along on a down the road mission. Unfortunately, he ran out of steam late. I didn't get the memo then, but I see it now! Have to include him in gimmicks. Has speed.
4 STEADY PULSE Jimmy P put the gelding in a perfect spot last week and horse just couldn't keep up late. That's a problem. He does have some decent history here, but it was a while ago. Have to work on that stamina now.
5 HUXLEY Turned in a couple of good efforts recently. I guess he deserves a big track try. I wouldn't call gelding the most "consistent" horse ever, but he does have moments. I like the post to get him a trip. A possibility.
6 FRANKIE C Just like #4, Yannick put horse in perfect spot last week and came up empty late. I guess I'd have a tough time endorsing now, after seeing that. He followed the winner and failed to keep up. Moves to tougher post too!
7 FEARLESS LEADER N No, I don't like to see that break in last race at Philly, but I will tell you this! If horse is okay, this is softest spot he's seen in a LONG time. Anywhere near his best will likely get the job done despite post. Your call?
8 KEEP GOING Was in-to-go at Philly on Wednesday, after press time, so I don't know if he raced or scratched. Either way, the post tonight will present a problem. He is also "capable" on best day, but is he sharp enough now?
9 BOBJACKS ANGLE A Can only win if the race completely falls apart and it sets up for a dead closer. Bob, and posts like this, just don't get along. Looking like a longshot to me from way out here.
10 WAKINYAN Can't expect much from this guy in post 10, in current form. Have to consider a big longshot.
10 Tenth Race Entries

1 DANCE BLUE Sports two very good qualifiers, folks. They were better than they look on paper. I'm not saying she's A-1 primed and ready, but if not tonight, she will be soon. Key inside post keeps her close enough to threaten. Trainer: Really happy with her qualifiers. She's a nice filly that really should do well for herself this year.
2 ODDS ON STEPHANIE Was actually much better in the first qualifier, than the second. Didn't offer much fight on the lead, so I fully expect her to go back to the rallying strategy in first start back. Let's watch one tonight.
3 LONELY DAYS It is NEVER a good thing to see a lame scratch in scheduled first start back off a layoff. I don't really know what to make of that. However, she did come back with pretty good qualifier here. Is she ready? Don't know.
4 RED SNAPPER Has the benefit of a couple of starts so far, and one of them was okay. That okay start was here, so glad to see her back from Yonkers when overmatched. This is no easy spot, but at least we know she likes track.
5 LET'S FALL IN LOVE Looks like the favorite here, as Yannick's choice over the stablemate. Filly got locked in for a while two weeks ago, while appearing to have pace. Might get overbet, but she is clearly the one to beat tonight.
6 KJ'S BEKAH Filly showed some talent last year at two, so that's a plus! I'll guess that she was a little bit short in first stakes try off the bench. She should be ready for this. Drew outside the fave, and will need a trip to upset.
7 CHEAP THRILLS Recent form a little bit suspect. Added Lasix for qualifier here that was okay, but not great. Drew outside the main foes, so I'm taking the wait and see approach. I need to see some improvement first.
8 SING ALONG Finds her way back to Club Med for Team Pelling. Those series races at Pocono look a little flat to me, and then she scratched out of a $30K race. That CAN'T be good, right? Bad post tonight. Very tough call out here.
9 THE SECOND STAR Awfully good and gutsy here last month. I still remember that. She looked done turning for home and re-rallied to guts out the win. Found that ":better" field too tough last time. This is more like it. Needs speed.
