1 THE GIRLS OF IMAGE Did not have a very good start here, coming off that scratch. This is actually a bump up in class, so she's probably not ready for this yet either. Pass, and wait for a better spot.
2 MISS BLING Keep in mind that she's raced well and won here before. But, her current form is a bit soft. Not sure she's able to handle this right now, but I'll be watching to see if she improves. Might only need a slight class drop.
3 BAD NIGHT MARE Had her "race over the track" to get used to M1. Now finds herself in a somewhat softer spot, and from a better post. Picks up the Double D and fits. I expect she'll be closer to the action. Big chance tonight.
4 ROCKIN BLUE STAR Only one in for the tag here, and coming off a nice win up at Monti, but isn't this race a lot tougher than that one? I think so. This mare will have to prove she can hack it here. I need to see it first.
5 OUR ELS DREAM N Another with plenty of prior success here and she should be ready now, after reacclimating last week. Those kind of speed efforts usually tighten one up. She should last longer tonight. Chance at the upset.
6 TEMPUS SEELSTER Cush's choice over #2 finds her way to Club Med and I like the spot! Up and down the class ladder at the Spa and just toss the Pocono line, as she was overmatched. This is perfect for her. We'll see speed.
7 WHISKERSONKITTENS Firing back on short rest here. I'm not usually a fan of that, but her race on Tuesday was very good, chasing a front-running, winning favorite. Only knock here might be the post. She's beaten this type before.
8 ICOMMANDMYSPIRIT Put on a pretty good display of speed last time we saw her here. BUT, that was long time ago, and I can't really endorse her off the break, and missed time before that. Something seems amiss. Must bounce back.

H Horse Comment
1 CRIUS N ROCK One of the 2YO's in here. It's never easy to beat older, more experienced foes. This guy has nine starts so far and a couple of wins. We can see that he's got some speed. In line to stalk early and try to get lucky late.
2 SERGEANT DALLY Second back off a long layoff. The first go wasn't bad, but it was a very slow race. I guess I'm just not convinced he's ready to pace in 52 or 53 yet. I'll pass.
3 AMERICAN ASSASSIN Basically just toured the oval last time, in that race won by daylight by Hervey. Ok. I'm going to guess that he "needs" the big track. We could be looking at a little bit of improvement here from better post.
4 JACK QUICK Doing fairly good work down at home base, and this barn has brought a few here with some success in the past. I'll take a good, long look at him out on the track and make a call. Seems like a grinder, but he can go!
5 SUPER FREEKEH Looks like the longshot of this bunch in current flat form. Would need big wakeup call.
6 RUSH TO JUDGEMENT Yes, those are 1:48 stakes races he's coming out of. And yes, he was not disgraced! Taking the big 'ol plunge in class tonight and I would have a hard time betting against him. Likely looking at 2-5.
7 CAPTAIN AMERICA For tonight, Vinny "loses" the drive on this guy. I can easily understand that decision. This is first start for Ginsburg and co. and we'll see if they can revive the horse's form. The post isn't going to help.
8 BOMBAY HANOVER I guess if you were searching for a reason to play against the favorite, this is your option. Like ALL of this barn's starters, he raced well out in Lex. I do wish he'd drawn a better post, but can't help that. Rallies?
9 SPEED TO MARKET Appeared to be on the improve until he made that break last time. A little bit surprising, but oh well! Draws a tough post tonight, outside the faves, so pilot might be "extra careful" with him. Have to watch closely.
10 LORDBULLVILLE Change of scenery here on the Crevani homebred. I need to see one here first.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 3-6-1-8
H Horse Comment
1 OK HEAVENLY She was okay last week upon return. Gets the key inside post again, so plotting for a very similar trip. Not sure how much "action' we'll have in this one, but she still needs to find a bigger kick to get any closer.
2 FOLLOWTHEWIND N Debuts in North America for barn that had a good opening weekend here. I like the look of the qualifier, but I will point out that Double D had a choice and opted for #1. Maybe we wait a week on this one?
3 REI'S STAR CROSS Was bet right off the tote board last week and kind of got trapped in. I thought she had pace when clear, so let's expect her to be overbet again off the "trouble line. Nice mare here. Needs a cleaner trip.
4 CLEAR IDEA Certainly burned a little bit of money in those last two. It was not too long ago she was in the Preferred up at Mohawk! What happened? Maybe she needs to acclimate? I will be watching for expected improvement.
5 GIVEMEYOURHEART Delivered a strong and gutsy effort last week to complete a Little's Late Double at nice price! She was also bet like a good thing and raced like it. Tonight, she steps WAY up and I think these are too tough.
6 PRINCESS FABULOSA We've seen her here before and she also comes back on short rest. Finished third at odds of 4-5 going first over on Tuesday. She's worked her way down in class. Running out of excuses. The one to fear?
7 SHEER TALENT Lots of consistent-looking efforts lately, but NO wins this year to show for it. Now, she's also forced up in class and gets a bad post. That's not exactly a recipe for success. I'll pass tonight.
8 JAYE'S A LADY Outperformed her odds out in Kentucky with two nice rallies. Not exactly "rewarded" for those efforts with this post drawn! Not sure what Marcus will do at gate, but if she leaves, I'd tell you to use. Has ability.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 2-5-4-6
H Horse Comment
1 WESTERN REDHOT Seems to be over whatever went wrong last month. The trip here last week didn't work out, but the switch to the rail is a solid plus. Can sit in, save ground and try to pick off a few late. That might work.
2 DANCING RUSTY Barn has a few in here tonight and they both have a pretty good shot. Foster is leading driver down at Rosecroft and he did okay here last weekend. Rusty fits this group perfectly and I wouldn't talk you off him.
3 DELCO LIAR Also up from Maryland, but current form looks a little soft. Was facing lesser than #2. I'll pass here.
4 SLY RULER Looks like he did okay when he drew inside up at home base of Monti. This post isn't bad and this field has no killers in it. Figures to stalk and wait for the flow. If it comes up live, he does have a chance.
5 IDEAL CANDIDATE Mike Merton drove great all weekend here. Gets the call on this 12YO warhorse who seems to try hard every time. That's what you're looking for in a race like this. Would be very hard to leave off the ticket.
6 ATLAS ALLIANCE N Speaking of "warhorses," here's another for Stevie! 13 and still going strong! He's had a few good moments here on the mile before. It's usually all about the trip for him. This might be good spot to send.
7 DANISH DILIGENCE It is always all about the trip for stone closer. At mercy of pace and I don't envision a very hot one in here. Ya never know, though. He's blown up the toteboard before.
8 FLIGHT AGAIN Finds his way to NJ with a pretty flat record this season. Can't really say I like that break last time at Pocono, but I always take extra look when Mr. Drolet shows up. Let's watch the board too!
9 IDEAL ROMANCE Sports four wins this year, including last upset kick at Monti. I will note that his form from "outer" posts isn't as good as inside ones. Pilot will have to get him in play somehow from way out here. A maybe.
10 CHEYENNE REIDER Also coming off a Monti win from the rail with a perfect trip. That seems very unlikely to happen here from post 10, so demand fair value if you fancy.
5 Fifth Race Entries
Picks: 7-4-2-1
H Horse Comment
1 RUSTY'S HOUDINI The lone 2YO in here, after the scratch has raced very well down in Maryland. And please don't forget about his stablemate Sam in race seven. Can this gelding hack it vs. older? Seems like he's pretty quick.
2 LYONS STEEL Quietly having a very good season so far. Can't really question the speed he's shown on the smaller ovals, but in mostly stakes races. So, this is a class drop and his speed will go a long way in here. The one to catch?
3 WILDMAN Yes, that's an 0-26 slate we're looking at this year. Recent form isn't exactly dazzling either. Not sure why, but he took money in last start and did not fire. Would be hard to bet hard-earned cash in this corner right now.
4 ALWAYS A BB Mitch steamrolled the field with this guy up at Plainridge last time. That's an impressive win, and super debut for the new barn. Takes next logical step by showing up here. Horse knows a big track. Could be any kind.
5 I'LL BE BACK Scotty Z put him in a good spot here last week and horse just couldn't keep up behind that runaway big favorite. There are couple good-looking ones in this group too! He'll need to find more stamina.
6 TRUE CUT Been plying his trade on the half mile tracks of late, and with only limited success. I would have tough time making strong case for him here on the mile. A lot to prove here.
7 ROCK LIGHTS Looks like the "sneaky" play in here. Was completely overmatched in that spot last week and raced deceptively well. I would think this is the spot they're looking for. Still won't be easy from an outside post.
8 DEWAR N JACK Suffering a case of the bad post blues right now! Yes, I know he can leave, but this race could have a LOT of action in it. That doesn't bode well for his chances from this starting slot.
6 Sixth Race Entries
Picks: 7-2-5-9
H Horse Comment
1 DURANT Former Preferred type pacer here earlier this year has fallen a long way down. And this is NO easy spot either! At least he gets the rail and plots for an up-close trip. I'd like to see him bounce back. Likes this track.
2 SANTIAGO STYLE I'm not really sure why, but this horse was bet OFF the toteboard last week. And he had NO chance in all kinds of traffic. SO, since he's dropping in class tonight, he figures to get bet again. Vinny will put in play now.
3 OH MY JOEPA Horse like to win, that's for sure! I have no idea how to compare a "Class B" horse against a field like this, but we'll find out soon enough. I'm going to guess that these will be too tough. Joe will have to prove me wrong.
4 VICTORYDAZE WILWIN Ahhhh, the Daze is back off the layoff. One slow qualifier, so he's not ready for this yet.
5 GLASS PRINCE I thought that was a good spot for him last week and he squandered the opportunity. Yes, maybe he needed the race and was used hard early. Could easily be a little stronger tonight. Note he's in for the tag too!
6 BUGGER BRUISER Outperformed by expectations upon arrival, given a nice drive by Double D. If anything, this field might be a tad tougher than that one, so he'll need even more. Should still offer a nice price.
7 CONSTNTLYSIDEWYS A No, I don't know what happened behind the gate last time. Sometimes these Down Under invaders get a little crazy. Let's see if we get any equipment changes, or something. Expect him to be okay soon.
8 TERROR OF THE NITE Had a rough trip re-introduction to Big M racing last weekend. Now, he gets a tough post. I have a feeling he'll be racing from behind tonight. Let's see if he gets any luckier now.
9 LEAR SEELSTER See how the barn's starters have done this weekend. Let that be a gauge on whether to use this fella. He's having a very good year and seems pretty consistent. Will need a trip from this poor post, but it's possible.
10 MAJOR AUTHORITY Ordinarily, I'd like a spot like this on the class drop. BUT, this post just makes things brutal. #9 will be leaving, and so will others. Might have to wait one more week for a probably better spot.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 7-6-5-3
H Horse Comment
1 BUSHWACKER Off just about a year, folks! And yes, I remember when he won here in 48 and change. Can Ryder possibly have him cranked and ready to pace in 50 tonight? I'm going to guess no. Hoping he needs one.
2 PONDA'S PROSPECT Invades from the Midwest and into a new barn. Also into a VERY tough spot. This is basically an impossible race to handicap, so I'm going to watch one from Ponda and see if he's a fit. Maybe on a class drop?
3 SLICK TONY Raced BIG last week, that's for sure! It took a huge mile from #8 to hold him off, but I was impressed with what I saw. I think we can expect Mr. Foster to be aggressive again, but this is sure a very tough field.
4 BRUCE'S MAGIC If I just waited for Bruce to drop in class every time, I'd be a big winner for the year. But, when Bruce steps up in class, it's usually much tougher. In this tough race, I have to rate him a longshot.
5 SAMS TRIPLE CROWN Speaking of Big M lovers, Sam is certainly one! I tend to not guess right on him, but I sure wouldn't talk you off him in this spot. He'll need a big mile to beat #6,7, but he's done it before. Don't count out.
6 CHECK SIX I really don't know what to tell you on this one, folks. He's not having a good year, but I don't think he's ever been this low in class. He didn't race badly last week, but he was just no match. Time to drop and pop?
7 DREAMS BEACHBOY How can you fault this gelding? You can't! Those are huge trips both at Tioga and that last one at Pocono. This is NO easy spot, but horse is ragingly good right now. Only knock might be the post. Your call?
8 SOHO WALLSTREET A Where on earth did that mile come from last week? I don't know. Maybe the recently added Lasix is helping? One thing's for sure, he's racing well for his barn right now. Post will make a repeat difficult.
8 Eigth Race Entries

1 SPORTSMANSHIP All starters out of this barn were "live" last week, including this one. The pace pressure might have been just a bit too much. Has the rail again, so we're going to see some speed. The class hike may be too much.
2 MORE DRAGON We've all seen his act here before, but I do have a feeling he will need to race back into shape. It will take a start or two, and a class drop, but the Dragon will wake back up then.
3 JK PARLAY Finds his way back to Club Med. Coming off a couple of dull ones too! When right, he can go with a field like this, but I also think I'll wait for some class relief. That's when the back class will resurface.
4 HEAVENLY SOUND I thought last week's spot for the 3YO was an odd one and this is no bargain either. I'll pass.
5 ASHLEY'S HUSBAND Enters off a month off. Really finds a difficult spot for the comebacker. I know gelding has won here before, so I'll give him respect for that. I do like the post and potential for trip. Let's see if he's ready.
6 BROOKIES PRINCE N Raced very, very well last week! Loaded with late pace, from a tough spot. It caught my eye, but I can't say that I like him being forced up in class. That might be the problem here. Also loses Eric A to #10. Your call?
7 DASH OF DANGER Couple of nice starts up at Tioga. The Pocono race was a maintenance race that he needed. He's not exactly in easy here either. I do think he'll be okay eventually, but maybe not in a spot like this.
8 AWESOMENESS Really don't know what to tell you, folks. He had no excuse last week, given a perfectly rated drive by Super Brett. Yes, this is another dip in class, but I'd be a little wary of taking a short price. It's your decision.
9 EXPRESS STRIDE N Double D had this veteran in the perfect spot last week too! And he didn't deliver that usual kick. Why? I have no idea, but it worries me. Now, he moves from great post to this slot. That's probably going to hurt.
10 QUALITY BUD Let's give Bud a post 10 pass for at least one more week. He'll wake back up soon, but not tonight.
9 Ninth Race Entries

1 WESTERN BAYAMA Gets a bit better post tonight for this final and he did race okay last week. Proved he could go with this group and gets a new pilot tonight. Certainly not out of it, and a good betting partner to have with 1A.
1A ADMIRAL Fought tenaciously to dig in and win last week. That showed me guts and he adapted to big track perfectly. Also getting a new driver tonight, and with a speedy partner. No reason you can't like them. Price may be okay.
2 SWORD OF THE SPIRIT Got stuck in that tight spot last week, squeezing up the pylons. Was DQ'd only one spot, so he makes the final. Gets key post relief here and should be sitting and stalking again. If they mix it up, watch out late.
3 WINDSONG GORGEOUS He actually wasn't bad last week either! But, somebody has to be a longshot. He's it.
4 STRATOCASTER What a perfect drive MM put on this veteran last week! Nice price too! Doesn't figure to offer that kind of price again, and might not be that lucky again. Will have to earn it, from the much better post. Your call?
5 PUMPED UP KICKS Interesting claim by Camp Surick. Horse was "very live" too, despite the big price. They knew they were losing him. Also interesting that Nick puts Foster back on. Have to give him a longshot look in here to sweep. Trainer: Scoped last week and bled. Added Lasix for tonight and seems okay.
6 SHOW ME UP Picked off a bunch of them late to "reacclimate" back to the Big M. Guess what? This race could have a LOT of action in it and that surely helps him. Don't be shocked if he comes charging home at a big price.
7 CREDIT RISK Looked like he was home free in deep stretch last week and somehow got caught. That was a nice move he launched, but I don't know what to expect from this post. Will need a bit more luck, and a bit bigger kick to reach.
8 TWINCREEKS JESSE Almost pulled off the shocker last week, but not exactly "rewarded" with this post again.
9 ROGER MACH EM Was bet like a "sure thing" last week and I guess he was! Won with plenty left in the tank, so why not draw post 10 for the final? Just to make it interesting. Will need a strong steer from Pat to get him close enough.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 1-7-6-4
H Horse Comment
1 SIR RICHIE N Can't get any more consistent than this! And, he raced very well in several starts here earlier this year. Lands back in exactly the right spot, and gets a great post. We'll see speed and Richie should go a long way.
2 ONE MORE MIRACLE Hasn't had that miracle of a win yet this year, but that can always change. It's surprising too, because his speed usually lands him in good position like last week. Plots for inside trip here. Chance with bit more.
3 EXOTIC MATTJESTY One of the MANY speed types in here, so something has to give. I can't guarantee he'll bring enough mile track stamina to the Big M, but you never know. I'm going to watch one, to see if he can hack it here.
4 CC BIG BOY SAM Came storming home last week, given strong trip and drive from Vinny. Obviously, gelding has reached peak form for Team Ginsburg, and from this post, he's probably the one to fear again. Short price likely.
5 MCCITO Firing back on short rest here, after getting run over by the favorite on Wednesday at Philly. Not sure that's the kind of line to make me want to bet. And, in a field full of speed, maybe he needs a different trip? Kirby's choice.
6 WESTERN TORO See how barn's other starter did in tonight's sixth. Maybe that can give us a gauge on where these Class B,C or D horses fit? Obviously, horse is razor sharp right now and looks like a great claim for $4K. Nice!
7 MEDOLAND JATE Owns only two wins so far this year, but one of them came recently. In a race loaded with speed, if you wanted to try a longshot closer, why not this guy? He knows the track. At mercy of pace and trip from behind.
8 LETTUCEROCKU A This guy has only one win this year. And it was against lesser up at Monti. I guess I'd have a tough time making case for success from a post like this. Have to pass from out here.
9 I'M SID THE KID Also looking like a longshot in current form. Will need a lot more than he offered upon return.
11 Eleventh Race Entries
Picks: 1-3-7-8
H Horse Comment
1 ITSNOPROBLEMMAN Had a nice tour of the oval last week, to get used to Club Med. Meets the consolation field now, from a much better spot. No reason he can't wake up a little here for the Double D! Very usable tonight.
2 ROCKIN CELEBRATION Eric A had this guy in a nice spot last week and horse came up empty. I'll pass now.
3 FRANKIE BOY Another good drive by MM on Frankie last week, but horse lacked that needed kick to stick close. Okay. Gets a better starting slot now, so maybe we save something? Frankie jumps up good every now and then.
4 DAYLYN HORIZON Did not have an easy trip last week, and exits that blowout win by the big favorite. Roger isn't in this one, and Daylyn gets a good post again. It's ALL about pace and trip for him. He has gotten lucky here before. Trainer: Been getting some unlucky trips. Finished real strong last two starts. Sharper than ever heading into this week.
5 CAMWISER Ended up with a nice inside trip upon return and got a little tired late. Eric A opted off. So will I.
6 SOUTHWIND INDY Had a real tough go of it grinding first over at 50-1 last week. I suspect a different kind of trip coming here, so we'll see if he can stick around longer. Or, The Mann might just take a shot and send. Maybe?
7 MAJOR STARLIGHT The other "fresh claim" by Camp Surick from last week. Horse was way overbet and did not perform well enough. However, this is different spot and new look. Anything can happen. See if he gets bet now.
8 SOUTHERN PURSUIT N Really liked him in that spot last week and he wasn't any good. Not sure why, but it was disappointing for sure. That's not the same horse we saw race here earlier this year. Another chance? Eric A's pick.
9 STAKEOUT Did not make it to the gate upon return, so that's never a good thing. Now, it's post nine with new driver. I guess I'll just say that I prefer others tonight.
10 BETTER BANGBANG It's definitely taking this horse a long time to acclimate to east coast racing. That's a nice record from the Midwest this year, but none of that speed shown here. I can't predict wakeup calls. When's it coming?
12 Twelfth Race Entries
Picks: 8-4-3-1
H Horse Comment
1 SOUTHWIND MASIMO Kirby's choice over #10 is desperately in need of a wakeup call, but class drops can provide that at times. Gelding is experienced on a big track, so maybe that will help too! See if he takes any tote action.
2 MITTNAGE A TROIS Beat much weaker up at Monti, so I feel this will be a tough task. Needs even more.
3 DAYLIGHT RUSH Ended up scratching (ineligible) at Monti on Wednesday. That looked like it would have been a soft spot. Now, he shows up here for Blake Mac making just fourth start of year. Is he ready? If so, watch out.
4 LONE WOLF TERROR Fresh claim here for a barn that was ready to roll last weekend! The Wolf has some back class and good experience here. This is a pretty soft spot if the Wolf is ready tonight. Don't be shocked by big mile.
5 OFFICER BLUE CHIP Current form from Freehold is a little flat. I would have a tough time making strong case here.
6 ELECTROFIRE 11YO warhorse for owner, trainer and reiner! Bounced back with a nice mile after that scratch. Is the horse still a fit for mile track speed? I'm not so sure, but she's beaten me before. Take a good, long look.
7 RU READY TO ROCK Was pretty good in many starts here earlier this year, but I do wonder about that last one at Monti? Shouldn't he have won that? That looks like a pretty soft spot. Will need to tack on more stamina to win this.
8 BURKENTINE HANOVER A newcomer into the Burke barn? Not sure about the story here, but horse looks quick enough if primed and ready to rock! Maybe the only knock is the post? Hard to ignore a fresh Burke horse.
9 HOPE FOR BADLANDS Didn't really look all that ready for his comebacker here. I can't really say I expect THAT much more from this post tonight. I'd be surprised if he jumped up and won this.
10 RATHER SWELL Doesn't look like a very quick starter, so this is a bad spot for gelding. Another that got lucky here earlier this year, but he'd need a lot of luck to overcome this slot.
