H Horse Comment
1 MARTY’S BARN PARTY Still a “work in progress” for his new barn. Qualifier was just fair. I will pass again.
2 REEL OF FORTUNE Regressed into a miscue in his second go around here. That’s never good. Yes, it was from post 10, so that’s one legitimate excuse. Gets a better starting slot here, so let’s see if he stays trotting tonight.
3 THE MAGIC OF LIFE Gets the “reluctant” vote as morning line favorite, but he’s not very reliable right now. Shows breaks in three of last four, so take a good, long look at him on track before you bet. A risky play at best.
4 DEW CAN DEW Invades over from Yonkers and looks like he can do! Has rounded into better form recently and enters off best effort yet. I have to give him a long look in a race like this. And, he picks up the Captain. Very usable.
5 RAFIKI AS Comes out of the same race as #4 and they were both about the same price. This one broke, however. A couple of his lines in the past would be good enough to threaten. Has raced here, so that experience counts too!
6 CANTAB ED Was technically in a higher class than #4,5 over at Yonkers. Then tried Monti for a qualifier and got around there successfully, but slowly. Will he be ready after that month off? That is the question.
7 NAMJE The barn has two in here and neither one drew well. This one is new to Mr. Levine and arrives from the Meadows where he was good up until that last start. I don’t see a lot of early speed. Should we watch one? Gets TT. Trainer: Just came in. Trained very well.
8 THE MAGIC NUMBER Didn’t exactly make a great impression in his debut here. Needs total turnaround.
9 VENTURE PRINCESS Gets slammed with another bad post. I don’t know what equipment she broke last time, but her prior start wasn’t great either. Was good there for a while and needs that kind of effort to overcome the post.
10 MARTZ STICK Set the pace in the same race as #4,5 and basically got run over late. Not good! Transitions over to the mile track and promptly lands post 10. I’d like to see the speed, but know he’d better find some stamina. Trainer: Could be okay if he can get away a little closer.
2 Second Race Entries
Picks: 4-6-5-1
H Horse Comment
1 JB’S SHOOTING STAR That was a tough trip she had last week, grinding away and couldn’t quite get by late. Still, she’s sharp! Can’t deny that. Moves all the way inside and seeks revenge. A serious step up in class tonight. Loses CC. Trainer: Has been sharp! Had a tough, first over trip last week. Always gives her best.
2 KOTARE YARRA N Scooted over to Yonkers and scored a nice victory, but this looks like a brand new ballgame against this crew. Much tougher field and I have to make her a longshot now. Will try to prove me wrong.
3 SANDY WIN Sandy’s streak came to an end last week when she couldn’t quite pace with Major Occasion. That’s no disgrace. She’s still in for the tag, and this field looks pretty tough! Back to the speed tonight? Probably. Corey sticks
4 SNOBBYTOWN Here’s the fresh face to the group and she looks awfully good on paper! The Burke Brigade listed Tetrick on everything this weekend, but they didn’t get him here. I still give this mare a big shot to upset. Use!
5 WISDOM TREE That was a pretty decent first try back here. That winner was just awesome and this mare was right there late, but as no threat. Wasn’t Tetrick’s choice, but I figured that. Still has big chance, and big speed.
6 ODDS ON ST LUCIE Chased the winner as no match last week, but Lucie remains rock-solid and razor sharp. She’s worked her way right up the class ladder, but does get stuck with another outside post, in field full of speed. Not easy.
7 QUITE A SIGHT Looks like the other longshot in here, since she hasn’t raced in a couple months. Have to prefer her stablemate for now, but that was good qualifier. Watch for future evaluation.
3 Third Race Entries
Picks: 5-7-9-10
H Horse Comment
1 MIAMI Didn’t pack much of a finish, in first start for new barn off the claim. Meets a very similar bunch and will simply have to find a bigger kick to get it done. The price is never big, so maybe we swing against? Even w/Tetrick?
2 WILLY MOUSE Retains longshot status, since he hasn’t come that close here yet. Have to pass again.
3 STORMONT MANPOWER I’m going to keep him on the longshot list too! At least he moves inside to try and help the cause. Also has to stay trotting, before trying to kick in late. Would need a lot of things to go his way.
4 PEMBROKE BADA BING I guess that win was just a fluke? The follow-up last week wasn’t nearly as good. He always starts slow, so he also needs some things to set up for him. Can’t always count on that. A medium longshot again.
5 MYSTICAL MOTOR Barn finally lowers the pricetag again and it’s the right move! This midpack post will put him in play tonight, and he might be coming out of a stronger race? I think so. He lacked punch, but might find more here.
6 ALVISI HANOVER Andy M had this veteran in prime position twice over past few weeks and horse just didn’t deliver the goods late. I don’t see that changing, even with a similar trip. Your call, folks?
7 DJOKOVIC N Just tell me he’s going to trot the whole way, and I’d probably tell you to bet. He’s got speed, and plots for a good trip here, with the power outside. Has a touch of back class. I’ll take long look at him too! But, MM chose 8.
8 BROADWAY PROMISE MIA for too long, in my opinion. Followed up the win with a miscue and that’s never a good thing. Drew tough post for the comebacker and I’ll probably swing against. If he beats me, he beats me.
9 ONE DIRECTION Looks like the one to beat, after a dominating, down-the-road mile for Yannick. That pays dividends on the claim of earlier this month. This post may make things a bit tougher, but he should be sharp again.
10 STARSABOVEALLERAGE Couldn’t chase down #9 last week, and the post positions made a big difference. Since he keeps entering for $20K, he keeps getting the outside. It’s costing him dearly. Has to grind into it again.
4 Fourth Race Entries
Picks: 3-5-7-4
H Horse Comment
1 MUSCLE FASHION New barn takes over tonight. He did stay trotting two weeks ago, but I thought he should have held on better. That disappointed me. So, he’ll have to step up with more stamina, or an easier trip. Your call, folks?
2 CORDOBA HALL Regressed into a miscue in second try here, which is not good. The first go around showed some promise with that speed. So, let’s bump him up in price here, even from the better post. Will he stay trotting?
3 SHOEMAKER HANOVER The Bomber is back with us this weekend, and I think he’s got decent shot with this guy tonight. Had a couple starts to get used to the track. Had tough trip last time. May step up with more here.
4 STORMING MIST After a few flat efforts here, this guy did step up a little more last time. A touch more early speed put him in position. Didn’t have a ton of trot, but some. Expect Drew to try that again. Horse needs more late.
5 MUFASA AS Here’s the Tetrick factor! Likely to be overbet on this one, on the class drop. But, he did go faster than most of these last week. There are no killers in here. So, if he were to zip right to the top, it wouldn’t shock me.
6 REVRAC HARBOUR Down from Monti for a big track try. I guess this is a slight drop, but gelding will have to prove himself on a big track again. I usually need to see it first. I’m willing to watch one.
7 ROUNDTOWN ROCKER His last qualifier was a lot better than most of his recent races. We all know he’s good enough to beat these, if primed and ready for best again. But, we do have to guess on that. Wasn’t Marcus’ choice.
8 CRAZSHANA As previously stated, I’ve never been a big fan of this horse here. Just here! He races well anywhere else, but here he just burns money most times. Drew a tough post. I will let him beat me if he can.
9 THE CUSE IS LOOSE Tough to get a real read on his form right now. Been struggling to stay on stride. Did so last time, but as no real threat. Tonight’s problem is the post. A slow start gives him little chance.
10 MUSHANA Gets slammed with post 10 for second straight week. That’s not fair! Took a lot of betting action last time, and might again, but how far back will he be early? Will have to get rolling much sooner, and no mistakes.

1 ALWAYS ARTISTIC This mare hasn’t been all that effective here yet. At least the barn got a decent post! She flashed some nice speed two back and I’d like to see that again. Not totally out of it, in this wide-open race.
2 LULU DU VIE Missed a couple of weeks, which is always a red flag. Plus, it does look like she tailed off? Maybe sick, or something like that. This time of year, there are many reasons for horses to go bad. Need to see good one again.
3 TAMIKA TERROR Joe had this mare in a good spot last week and that’s about as good as she can race! Almost got lucky at long odds and will be a good price again. Can she find that bigger kick to get it all? That is the question.
4 SWEET SUE I really thought she was going to win two weeks ago, but got collared late by a trip-sitter. Still, it was a good step in the right direction and she gets another good post. Tetrick came to drive for this barn, so opts over #7.
5 YOU MACH ME CRAZY Yes, she paid $2.10 down at the Hold. The lowest price possible! That must have been some field! Her last try here wasn’t all that great, so I assume we can get better odds now? Must step up with a lot more.
6 BINDSAY The qualifier was okay, but still not enough to make me want to bet. Will just try to stay pacing tonight.
7 EXOTIC DANCE Easily the key to the race, upon invasion from the Hilltop. Endured tough trip in first go for new barn and they probably feel she’ll like big track better. They caught a nice bunch too! Listed TT, but he stayed loyal to #4.
8 AWAKE MY SOUL She was sneaky-good again last week. IF you think the faves can get softened up, don’t be afraid to use this mare. I’m not in love with the post again, but can’t control that. Will kick home strongly again.
9 FUTURE DELIGHT I hate to see that scratch last week, and I hate to see this post drawn. I do see the slight drop, since last time she was here. Definitely needs the class relief. But I don’t see any early speed. That’s a problem.
10 PRINCESS HOLLY N She was probably going to be good in her race last week. Had her as second choice on morning line, so when you scratch in that spot, it can’t be good. Now slammed with post 10. What should we expect?
6 Sixth Race Entries

H Horse Comment
1 GRANDMA HEIDI This mare had a much better qualifier, and then a good follow-up race last week. Apparently, they’ve got her good again! The price will be a lot lower tonight and the pole post is a plus! Hard to leave out.
2 FLIPPEN CREEK Slow starter, which never helps. At least he gets inside post. I need to see more, please.
3 SHOW EM ALL LINDY Hasn’t really come that close here yet. I see the overall record too! Still a longshot.
4 GALIXTON The hopples went on last week and he did produce a better race. Maybe that’s finally the answer? Dex isn’t here tonight, so we get a new pilot, but you can probably bet with a little more confidence now. Upsetter?
5 SOUTHWIND FROST Just not finishing his miles well enough. Yannick gave him every chance last time and he just got tired. Draws midpack post again to give options. I need to see a bigger kick before I can bet again.
6 FOREVERHILLREIGN Kicked in with a much better late brush last week. Is he finally ready to turn it all the way around? This is third time on Lasix. Hoping for hot pace and just might get it, with the power outside. It’s possible.
7 TT’S D-JAY Took an aggressive try in first start for new barn and wasn’t bad. Got a little tired near the end, but I liked what I saw. Moves out a few slots tonight, but we should see that same speed again. I’d have to use now. Corey’s pick! Trainer: Should be good in here. Hopefully, a good trip in the flow.
8 OBERTO Seems to be having a few too many issues right now. Wasn’t Corey’s choice. Gets stuck with a bad post, off a scratch. Too many negatives for me, so I’ll just take a pass on this slow starter.
9 YANKEES BEAST Invades with three wins in a row! That’s great! Plus, note the rest given between last two tallies. Tetrick knows the gelding well and sticks over Burke. Has already proven he can overcome a tough post. I like!
10 PHOTO BOMBER Those appear to be some tougher races over at Yonkers, so let’s call this a class drop. I hate post 10, but see that he can leave a little. Tetrick was listed, but chose #9. I like them both, despite these posts.
7 Seventh Race Entries
Picks: 8-3-4-2
H Horse Comment
1 ROCKIN PRALINE Pride of the Red Barn Stable is back! She looked just a bit short in that qualifier, but we know she loves this track. Running into a pretty good bunch here, so I’ll take the stand that she will need a race. Your call? Trainer: Qualifier was good off a little bit of freshening. We’ll be pushing off hard and sitting where she lands this week.
2 NARCIAN JEWEL Benefited from a very slick steer by The Mann last week! Nice win, and big price. Meets a few of the same foes, so I’m not considering this a class hike. Obviously the post is better. Won’t be 18-1 this time for Pat B.
3 JIMBELINA She’s raced well every start here! Love to see that kind of consistency. Also seems versatile, and I like that too! Would be very hard to leave off the ticket and I’ll hope for better price this time. Grinds into it?
4 GLORIA PIERRE She hasn’t had a lot of luck here lately. Since that post 10 win, things haven’t gone her way. Maybe that will all change tonight from the better post? Tyler will get her a better trip now and she can hit the ticket.
5 LILY HAMMER Brushed and crushed over a weaker field last week. This is a significant step up, but Corey is back and I imagine we’ll see similar speed. I don’t think she can “steal” it, but will have to earn it now. Not much value, though.
6 GLENFERRIE BRONTE N MIA a little too long for my taste. She will need this, and let’s wait for a class drop. The Mann has two in here and opted to steer this one.
7 VINTAGE BABE Keeping her on the longshot list too! I think she will need a softer spot to wake back up again.
8 MANHATTAN PLAY Sports two straight tough trips, so she’s overdue to get something better. Couldn’t chase down Lily last week and gets stuck outside that rival again. New driver, though! That Tetrick guy will try to get revenge.
9 SHEWEARSTHEPANTS Back and forth between here and Yonkers. This looks like a pretty bad spot for her. No speed. Outside the main contenders. Will need a lot of luck to get much from way out here.
10 ILANA Z TAM On a good night, Ilana can go with these, but how does she get into the race? By all rights, this is a bit of class relief and we’ve seen her leave before. Only way into it is to take a shot and send. Not sure it’s coming.

1 CYCLONE MAXIMUS Seems like he’s worked his way up too high in class. Gets another cozy, inside post, but will need to find a much bigger kick to get any closer. Either that, or just sit in, save ground and try to get lucky late.
2 RENTIER Seems to be stuck in way over his head here. Retains longshot status, and I have to pass in this spot.
3 TRIXIE DUST I’m still marveling at the price of that last win! Had extra week off and now double jumps up the class ladder. I see a repeat as “unlikely,” but you never know. Confidence boosters help.
4 SAY YOU DO Definitely rounding back into better form. We know he loves the track and he flashed a touch better early speed last time. Expect Tyler to do the same thing here and possibly trip out. If he stalks, watch out late.
5 SPECTRE He’s been a tad over his head lately too! It continues again. Tyler opted off again. Have to wait for drop.
6 VERY VERY FAST Found JL Cruze too much last time, and that foe came back to win again. Seems very sharp right now for Team Harris and Corey gets along with him well. Right to the top and coast? Maybe. Hard to deny here.
7 THISGUYISONFIRE After two straight on-the-board starts, he gets forced UP the class ladder tonight. And, it’s probably too much for this guy. He’s not on fire yet, so I’ll put him on the longshot list vs. these.
8 ZLATAN Turned in another even-type effort last week, and he probably needed that race anyway. Tonight’s problem is the post and potential pace scenario. I don’t think it works in his favor here, but he can pick up the pieces.
9 HAMMER TIME New Jersey’s newest trotting sire can be bred to, for free! Not a bad deal, right? Showed some guts to win that last one, but doesn’t get “rewarded” here with the post, or the class hike. Will Timmy get him close enough?
10 MARION GONDOLIER Outmuscled by #9 last week and they both get the worst of the draw tonight. It will likely do them both in. Would need even more speed to get into the game from way out here. New driver too!

1 TRAFFIC JAM Finally, and I repeat, finally gets a decent post! Tyler sticks. I think she’s about ready to wake back up and will push the issue from the rail. Gets a trip after that and hits the ticket at square price. Don’t leave out.
2 MY SISTER LUCIE Eric M is unbeaten here this year, with Independent One! So, why not bring another? Lucie squeezes in for the Trackmaster rating here. She does own a touch of speed, but seems versatile. Needs that trip.
3 APPLE HANOVER Up from Dover and into a new barn tonight! Team Adams has been rolling good lately, and firing on all cylinders. The switch to the Captain is huge! Finds the right spot for Big M debut and looks like one to beat. Trainer: Trained really well and was happy with her. Might need a start or two, though.
4 SUDDEN PASSING Tetrick chose here, over #7, as I expected. Rolled along at a pretty good clip last week and got a touch tired. I see different kind of trip coming and it just might work. Will give the Apple all she can handle.
5 JUSTABITOFCHARM Last time she was in for the Trackmaster rating, she won! But, I feel this field is far superior to that one. Last few were just okay. She will need a lot more than that and she wasn’t Marcus’ choice. Tough call.
6 SHE’S SPORTY A Took all the money last week and seemed to be very live. Unfortunately, she stopped badly. Marcus hops back aboard and figures to change up the strategy. Will be at mercy of pace and trip. Needs a live flow.
7 STRONG OPINION Tough to get a real read on her form right now. Qualified out in Ohio. Figured to need a start or two here, but they weren’t very good. I can see this as a drop, but I’m not ready to hop on board just yet.
8 MOONSHINECHARLEIGH Doesn’t seem to do as well from these outer posts. But, that happens to everybody! Mitch picks up the steer here and I don’t see him blasting into the favorites. Will have to get a little lucky from out here.
9 DISTURBED HANOVER Great pick by Ken W when she won. It was also a perfect trip and drive. Wasn’t “rewarded” with post 10 last week, so just forget about that. Now, it’s post nine and a difficult pace scenario. Takes back again?
10 ELLA IS AWESOME Enters off a real clunker and I don’t see much coming from post 10. A pass tonight.
10 Tenth Race Entries
Picks: 4-5-8-1
H Horse Comment
1 ER SKYWALKER That was a heckuva trip last week to score the upset! A nice steer too! Jordan turns the lines over to Marcus tonight and they step up, but get the rail. It’s always dangerous to ignore sharp horses. Big test tonight.
2 BLASCO When is this guy going to turn things around? Broke here. Broke at Yonkers. I guess I don’t know what to expect. Tyler’s job is to just keep him trotting. That may be a real test. Continues to drop in class.
3 SORTIE HANOVER That just wasn’t his kind of trip last week, so forget about that. The one-move win was much more to his liking. Loses Pat B to #4 here, but I expect conservative handling now. Any good trip gives chance.
4 CRAZY ABOUT PAT He’s rounded into a bit better form lately and this is the solid class drop. There are others in here dropping as well, but I like this spot and potential for a smooth journey. Expect him to be in play tonight.
5 ALEX THE GREAT After a disastrous start in the slop two back, Alex bounced back much better last time. That was very good kick, and he was trotting up a storm. I liked that. Mitch will be hoping they mix it up up front. Maybe.
6 CHIEF JUSTICE Another that came storming home just a hair too late last week. Gets same post and possibly the same pace scenario. Figures to line up behind #5 and they both need a live flow. Who will set the pace in here?
7 MR HOUDINI Gets the tepid call as fave, in this wide-open race. Why? The connections, of course! But, I’ll be swinging against this guy tonight. He just hasn’t been good lately. I see the class drop, but is it enough?
8 MYSTICAL WYNN He’s plunging in class here and gets a new driver tonight. I can see that he’s left the gate before and this would be perfect spot to take a shot and send. There isn’t that much speed in here. I like if price right.
9 BOLD GODDESS I don’t know how, but somehow, someway Dexter kept her alive last week. Not tonight.
10 MAX VOLO Max hasn’t really been firing his best shot lately, so that’s an issue. So is post 10. The horse has never really been a blast-out type, but this is the spot for it. Might as well take a shot. Won’t get much coming from last.
11 Eleventh Race Entries
Picks: 3-4-5-2
H Horse Comment
1 LETTUCEROCKU A 13YO warhorse finds his way back to Club Med and I don’t know if that’s a good thing. Last time we saw him here, he tired both times. Better sit in, save ground and try to keep up late.
2 VAN DIESEL Up from Freehold and up in class too! Not sure what happened last time when he was favored at 2-1. Looks like he got shuffled? Will the big track pick him up? Your guess is as good as mine. Wide open race! Trainer: $62,000 Ohio sale flop last fall. Hoping that the big track may help him a little.
3 TAILGUNNER HANOVER Looks like he regained some of that good form down at The Hold! The win was strong. The follow-up was impossible trip. Back to the big track and he’ll be better off here. One possibility in very tough race.
4 GAIUS CRASTINUS Gets the extremely tepid call as morning line favorite, simply because he’s raced here before. I see a new barn in play here, but Marcus Miller on too! He’ll be aggressive in this spot. Could go all the way.
5 BIG ROCKY Drew M gets a re-ride here, but I can probably guarantee that Rocky will try to come from off the pace this week. He’ll never get anything here racing on the lead. The horse does have one move. Needs the trip to time it.
6 STENING A Last summer this horse was turning in efforts that would crush these. Unfortunately, that was then, and this is now. Can he completely turn around from that first try here? It’s a big drop. Questionable bunch. Your call?
7 THUNDER DOME Not much in his recent form suggests a big turnaround here. Those are hard to predict.
8 ALWAYS ABOUT CHRIS Up the NJ Turnpike from Freehold and I just don’t think he’s fast enough for here.
9 ALWAYS A DIAMOND Yes, he paid $2.60 down at The Hold. Really? That must have been some field! So, it’s back to the mile track wars and he got slammed at the post draw. I don’t see him repeating from way out here.
10 MATEO Had he drawn a better starting spot, I could probably make a better case. But, in this field, he’s still got a chance. Eric A will have to leave a little, but he knows how to do that. Remember that he has won here before.

1 ROCKIN PANDA Got shuffled a bit in first go for new barn. Hard to gauge off that trip, but I will note that Corey chose him over #6. At least that’s a positive sign. The rail is tricky post for a dead closer. Has to avoid trouble now.
2 JUST N BERLANDER That was impossible trip in first start for his latest barn. But, he was going forward at the end and that’s all you need to know. Draws same post, but hopes to get off to better start. That’s up to Mitch! Trainer: I thought he was okay last start. Just wasn’t in position to do any damage. Hoping he can get a little closer this week. If he does, he will get a call at the wire.
3 PREPPY ART He’s back in for the $10K tag tonight and that’s big! Gets the better post. Still has the speed and I feel Pat B will be uber-aggressive tonight. Clearly the one to catch, and he’ll probably benefit from extra week off.
4 JUSTIFIED Got tortured the last time we saw him here. Just forget about the race at Freehold. Overall, barn has done okay with its claims. I look for him to be in play, and at a fair price. Don’t be shocked if he races well.
5 OHIO LARRY Larry finds his way back to the big track. He’s had his moments here, but they’re not guaranteed. Last two tries on the half were just fair. He will have to step up his game substantially tonight.
6 I AM THE COWBOY Took ALL the betting money last two starts and didn’t pay off either time. That’s a problem. And, add in that Corey chose another, you get a no confidence vote. Will need a LOT more to make amends now.
7 LEAR SEELSTER Loses that inside post help. That will hurt. He does have the speed to get involved early and I like that he won right away for his latest new barn. Expecting a send from Vinny G and if he trips out, watch out.
8 DUCKIES DYNASTY Duckie added the knee spreaders, AND Lasix last time and promptly delivered a monster knockout blow at 27-1. But, as I always say, if you didn’t have then, don’t try now at much lower odds. Your call?

1 HALLANET Finally, and I repeat, finally gets a decent post! He was pretty disappointing last time, lacking his usual decent finish. Maybe Brandon can save a little of that kick from this post? Would make a big difference.
2 CAMPBELLINI His last qualifier was a LOT better than any of his recent races. Did barn finally figure something out? This race is wide-open and a repeat of that effort in the a.m. would serve him well. Live longshot?
3 SHIVERED It’s tough to make a strong case for this guy in current form. Have to keep him on longshot list.
4 ZOE F I thought she would be the favorite last week and wasn’t. I’m expecting her to be the favorite tonight. Because the rest of these have no confirmed form. She at least goes forward! IF Francisco gets her to lead, she can win this.
5 CANT U SPELL Still showing absolutely nothing. Hard to endorse, until we see a lot more effort.
6 TWISTERLAUXMONT Pretty much same boat as #5. Unless you’re expecting big wakeup call, he’s a pass again.
7 ILLINIMIGHT Simply by default, he’s got to have a big chance in here. I know he’s burned money before, but the drop back to bottom level will wake him back up. Can he grind into it in time? That is the question.
8 RUN LINDY RUN Susanne taking a shot with a lease here. That qualifier wasn’t bad, and it was very cold and windy that morning for qualifiers. She keeps Corey aboard and mare does have speed. Big threat to battle with Zoe.
9 WINDSUN HUGO Actually got a check at 99-1 last week, so that’s a good thing! Drew another tough post, but might be able to pass a few of these and earn his keep again.
10 AVENTURE Mitch gets the call for owner/trainer/driver Tony C. This horse has had some good moments here in the past, but usually from off the pace. He HAS to leave a little in here. Just let him be close, turning for home.
